Granting of a
Bye for Club Championships
Policy
Objective
To ensure the granting of
a “Bye from Club Championships” is fair and consistent to all
skaters.
Policy
A bye from Club
Championships will only be considered:
-
For Junior and Senior divisions, for
those skaters who win their division at Nationals the
previous year.
-
For Novice, Junior and Senior Skaters who
have in the beginning of the current year, competed
overseas, in either worlds, or a grand Prix skate.
-
After entry formalities have been
completed and fees paid. (this is non refundable).
-
If application is made in writing to the
IFSC Committee, stating the reasons for the bye.
-
If a skater, Primary level and above, has
a medical certificate.
Reasoning
As per the ISQ Policy
004/2003 participation in Queensland Championships,
All athletes who wish to
participate in the QLD Championships must be a member of an
affiliated club and must be nominated by that club.
These nominations are
based on the placings achieved at the home clubs championships.
A bye can be granted to
the winner of the division for Junior and Senior skaters at
Nationals because these skaters have an automatic entry to
States and Nationals in the following year.
A bye can be granted to
those skaters in Novice, Junior and Senior Skaters competing
over seas in the beginning of the year of the club championships
as these skaters would only be back for app. 1 month, which
does not allow them time for a rest period and to change their
programs in accordance with the new year rules. ie: 08/09 which
changes in March after Worlds.
Entry formalities to be
completed with entry fee, this is in accordance with the ISQ bye
policy which is in place to support the development of the sport
within the club. (This is non refundable).
If a skater, Primary
level and above, is granted a bye from Club Championships due to
an injury, with a medical certificate, that skater will have to
produce a medical clearance from their Doctor to be nominated
for QLD Championships.
